For me, spring break isn’t a week of late nights, parties and little paper umbrellas. Β I take the week and do what I love: nothing. Well let me rephrase that, I use the week to catch up on some blog work, pictures, spring cleaning, errands, and of course sleep. So here are some spring break at home ideas.

7 ideas for spring break at home

1. Catch up on blog work
It may sound dumb to do any work on spring break, but I generally LOVE writing blog posts, making graphics and thinking up content ideas. I use this time to work, but not under deadlines or due dates.

2. Get ahead in school
Okay, in all honestly I don’t really do this. It’s one of those things that I put on my to-do list and it never gets done-well not fully. I do work on some stuff, but I don’t really accomplish anything.

3. Clean
My blog spring cleaning post will go live on Friday! Besides that I’m cleaning my desk (my gosh that thing gets dusty), my roomΒ and my closet (more space for new purchases, right?) P.S. while cleaning/reorganizing my room and closet I catch up on podcasts and listen to music.

4. Relax
Um, duh? I’m talking relaxing bubble baths, wine, manis & pedis, massages and facials. The ultimate treat yo self week.

5. Watch Netflix
Ever since Christmas break my Netflix queue has been overflowing. We just got new couches that are perfect for binge watching-so if you need me I’ll be vegging on the couch.

6. SHOP!
It’s kinda a tradition to shop hard when we’re on spring break. Just because we’re staying home doesn’t mean we’re not shopping. Besides online shopping means messy hair and sweat pants.

7. Road trip
Nothing huge, but a day trip to a nearby town for a refreshing change of scenery.

Where are you going for spring break? Any exciting plans?

  • Great tips. I also find reading and being in nature very relaxing. Every spring I get the urge to clean out my closet, try on all my clothes and sort through them. I guess this is some kind of natural phenomenon.

    • Haha that’s what I did yesterday.

  • Sophie Whiffen

Brilliant ideas! We’re away but I’ve bought a doughnut and unicorn float, just like in your pic!

  • Totally agree about catching up on blog work. My birthday is next month so I am going to go on turbocharge and automate as much as I can so that I can enjoy my birthmonth. Cheers to Spring Break!

I’m jealous that you get a spring break! I remember always loving spring break during college because I stayed home. I love traveling to new places, but when you only have a week, it can feel so rushed! Then you need a vacation from vacation. Relaxing at home with the occasional day trip is much more my style. πŸ™‚

    • Haha yes a vacation from your vacation.

  • Greta Hollar

My spring break was spent helping my brother move in Florida! Kind of a bummer but at least I was semi close to the beach!

  • Jessie Mullins

Yes!! Traveling is nice, but nothing is more relaxing than staying home and binge watching Netflix with family.

  • Shobika Santhalingam

Thanks for the amazing tips! Definitely going to do some of these with my nieces and nephews πŸ™‚

I have spring break with 3 kids!! I hope to get some work done, but probably will be running around!

  • JustOneMommysOpinion

Hopefully I can get some work done while the kids are out of school, although I feel like I won’t be able to et anything done since they’ll be home 24/7, lol

  • This sounds like my type of spring break! πŸ™‚

  • Sounds like my kind of spring break! I hate dealing with the crowds, so usually do a few of these anyway!

  • These are all awesome suggestions for spending spring break at home! When I was in school, I loved to spend spring break visiting with friends in my hometown that went to different schools. It was a great time to catch up with each other!
