Glad I’m not the only one. Here are some hacks that I use through it and of course for me to actually do it.

My exercise and motivation hacks!

Finding the motivation to workout is rather difficult also.

Put your shoes where it'll remind you to exercise

The hardest thing for me is waking up, getting up and actually doing things (seriously, coffee is the BEST). So what I do is I put my tennis shoes by the sink. I know this sounds bonkers, but it reminds me that working out is the next part of the day.

See, after I finish my coffee I put my cup in the sink and lo and behold there are my tennis shoes reminding me that I need to go work out now.

Put your Fitbit in your pocket

Many of you know this, but your Fitbit won’t count your steps if your pushing a cart or holding on bars when walking on a treadmill like what I do.

If you put your fitness tracker in your pocket (my exercise shorts don’t have pockets so I usually hang it on the waistband of me shorts) it will sense movement and therefore count your steps.

Use the reminders to drink water

Drinking water is so important. Drink water all day err’day- not just when exercising. That being said, if your Fitbit or fitness tracker vibrates to remind you to get up and move, also use that reminder to take a big gulp of water.

Listen to podcasts

There are tons of great workout playlists out there, (I also made one-check it out here) but I get tired of music so I listen to podcasts. These are my favorites.

Listen to a great audiobook

Sometimes I’ll purposefully stop listening to a great audiobook at a cliffhanger so I’ll look forward to finishing it when I go workout. I make myself think that in order to find out what happened I’ll have to work out. Simple, but effective.

Drink water and stretch

It’s not a scientific fact or maybe it is, but I find that drinking a ton of water (before, during and after a workout) and stretching (before and after a workout) helps me not feel sore after a strenuous exercise session.

Place your alarm clock across the room from your bed

Another hack that seems to be well known-but it works well. Putting your alarm clock across the room, far from your bed prompts you to get out of bed and stay awake (because who doesn’t fall back asleep after turning off your alarm?)

What exercise and motivation hacks do you use?
