As we enter the third week of my guest posting month, here is an article from Isabelle from Collegiate Curls! She talks about (in my humble opinion) THE BEST outfit planning website out there: Polyvore.

Guest posters opinions are their own and may not reflect the views of APSL.  Don’t forget to check out this post and this post of the guest posting series!

Guest Post: Isabelle from Collegiate Curls tells us all about the great outfit planning website.

It’s back-to-school season, one of my favorite times of the year (Christmas is first, obvi). I LOVE fall and everything that comes with it: sweaters, PSLs, boots, scarves, PSLs.

Did I mention Pumpkin Spice Lattes?!

One of my favorite parts of starting classes again is getting to plan out my week of outfits! Even when I don’t have time to plan outfits for an entire week of classes, I always make sure I have tomorrow’s outfit laid out the night before. Check out my post on making mornings easier for more time-saving tips for busy mornings!

Anyway, planning my outfits ahead of time not only makes my mornings easier, but it can help save me money, too! When I know what pieces I have and what outfits they can go with, I am less likely to buy unnecessary (but totally cute) pieces. Now, I’m no minimalist. My closet can tell you that. But I am definitely a poor college student, and saving money on clothes means more Starbucks money! Gosh, I want a PSL…

My favorite outfit planning app is Polyvore– it makes outfit planning so fun and simple! You can organize your outfits any way you like and easily search for outfit inspo. Here are some of my favorites, and you can bet I’m incorporating them into my back-to-school outfit planning!

I love the search feature of the Polyvore website. You can search specific products and add them directly to collages or collections. This makes it super easy to shop looks you love too!

The best part is Polyvore is completely free! I personally like to use the website over the app, but having the app on your phone makes for simple and fun outfit planning on the go!

What app/website do you use to plan an outfit?

I really need to start outfit planning…I usually start with one piece, and then I pull an outfit together based on that main piece!

  • I really don’t plan my outfits, I honestly should just because it would save me so much time! I love the first set of planning that sweater is so pretty!

    • I don’t plan them for everyday, just big events!

  • mckenna bleu

All the stuff you posted is sooo cute! I need to be better at planning my outfits in advance. I always just wing it.

    • Sometimes winging it is the best way to go!

  • I used to use this site all the time! But I feel like the clothing isn’t updating frequently…at least not like it used to be. Still such a good site though.

    • It doesn’t… I sometimes use the ‘clip it’ button, but it doesn’t always work ha.

  • I love this! I used to try to plan all of my outfits but quickly fell out of it haha!

    • That’s mainly what I use it for also!

  • Anna Hubbard

I used to use Polyvore all the time!

  • This is a great idea, I plan my outfits ahead of time in my head but I usually end up making a few tweaks in real life.

  • Melissa Marie
