Thanks to my Julep subscription I have like a gazillion nail colors. Surprisingly, a lot of them aren’t ‘Christmassy’ so as I’m writing this I’m trying to decide which color to paint my nails that’s festive, but not red or green. See? Inspiration is everywhere.
Okay I decided to go with taupe this time. Taupe is a nice and goes with pretty much everything. P.S. dad calls this color dead clay. -_-
When I was younger I had this blue nail polish color that mom said made me look hypoxic. Well now I mainly use a more neutral blue color that doesn’t make me look sick. A pretty navy would be perfect for X-Mas.
I usually like burgundy or deeply purple color for Halloween or an oxblood color for fall, but a royal purple can be so Christmassy!
Um…duh. Ever heard of the shade winter white? I have a white matte color thanks to Julep and I luuuuurve it!
Silver bells, silver beeeells, it’s Christmas time in the city! I don’t have a silver color right now, but this one is gorgeous!
The particular gold that I have is more appropriate for NYE (it so glittery and could blind someone if it hit the right light), but a not super glittery shade is great for Christmas!
7. A sparkly top coat
Again, Julep sent me this and I use it as the second coat on a plain color. It can be worn by itself, I just haven’t done that yet.
8. Soft pink or blush
This color has been EVERYWHERE lately. Maybe I’m biased (I totally am), but this color is probably the best. Go for a more ‘frosty’ pink for this time of year.
9. A classic french tip
Honestly, these nails are so versatile. Mom gets them all the time and they always look so clean. To make them even more holiday appropriate try adding some sparkles.
Doing your nails at home? Here are a few hacks:
Put your nail polish in the fridge- the cold makes it last longer.
Always get the polish anywhere but your nails? (ME TOO!) Paint the edges of your fingers (around your nails) with glue for an easy clean up later.
When you nails are somewhat dry (not dripping with paint) dip or run them in cold water to fully harden the polish and make them dry quicker
What are your favorite nail colors for Christmas?
