Merry Christmas erry-body! I’m spending some quality time with my family right now so I’m posting another guest post from Amy Mia Goldsmith! This time she’s sharing some tips for dressing for a last minute Christmas party.

We all love to dress up nicely for special occasions, and even more so if that special occasion is a Christmas party. But, when you have to attend your friends last minute Christmas party, you don’t want to look like a hot mess. No worries- I gotchu covered. Add some extra glitz and glam to a simple look to achieve a festive party outfit.

Dress up a LBD

A little black dress is a classic choice for many different occasions when you just want to look your best without actually spending ages thinking about what to wear. It’s classy and once you get the right cut and design for your body shape, it’s extremely flattering. However, this is a Christmas party you’ll be attending so don’t be afraid to spice up this look a bit more.

For instance, if you choose LBD and black stilettos, you can add that extra glam with fashionable stockings that have intricate glitter embroidery, a sequin/glitter blazer, and/or an extravagant brooch. When it comes to glitzy bits, you can stick to the black color, or you can add even more holiday oomph by going with gold.

Rock dress pants

You don’t have to opt for a dress if that’s not something you feel the most comfortable in. One of the biggest fashion trends this year are dress pants that fall nicely yet follow your figure in a very flattering way. You can also find them in different design/patterns, with slips on the side, flares, shorter legs, etc. Such pants allow you to play with your footwear choice.

Adding a bit of glam with a sleek shoe that has a unique heel is always a great way to put a great look together. Of course, for the top, go for a blouse or a tunic that will evoke the same chic and glamour as a true dress. After all, if you make sure to keep the pants and footwear relatively plain and minimal, with just a couple of details, you can get more creative and Christmassy with your top and/or jewelry.

Go for jewel tones

If you find black too boring but you don’t want to shine and sparkle either, you can definitely make the most out of your party outfit simply by opting for jewel tones. Regardless of whether you want to wear a dress or pair tops with skirts/pants, fun, jewel tone colors are definitely a great choice for a Christmas party.

Therefore, choose a shade that matches well with your skin tone. Also, when it comes to bright jewel tones, you should try to avoid pairing them with more than one other color. In general, black tends to be perfect for complementing an outstanding piece of clothing. So, if you don’t want to wear just that one jewel shade, consider this carefully.

Choose your materials wisely

There are plenty of fashionable choices when it comes to finding trendy women’s clothing nowadays. Precisely because of that, you can easily find cuts that flatter your body shape perfectly. What’s more, as the holidays are getting closer, you may want to look into different materials that can effectively make your office Christmas party look truly gorgeous and glamorous.

For instance, sequin, velvet and lace are three options that can definitely bring out the Christmas spirit and glitz associated with it. On the other hand, if you match them nicely with the rest of your outfit, you’ll also show your elegant and professional side. Therefore, if you decide to go for sequin for example, you will want to balance out the rest of your look with simpler and sleeker pieces, jewelry and accessories.
